You can download a pdf of the 2019-2022 contract and 2022-2025 MOA here.

When do I file POA? What's the process?

Information about when and how to file a POA can be found here.

How do I resolve issues with my paycheck or time off accruals in Kronos?

You should ask your manager to contact payroll for all paycheck or paid time off (sick, vacation, personal, or holiday) errors. If your manager is not able to resolve the issue, please notify the union and together we can reach out to HR for assistance. If the hospital does not fix a payroll error, you have the right to file a grievance. A grievance needs to be filed within a limited time-frame, so take action and notify the union as soon as possible.

When do I have a right to have a union representative with me? Who should I call?

You have the right to bring a union representative to any meeting with management that could lead to a change in your working conditions or terms of employment. You need to invoke this right by asking for a union delegate, though. Some times management will tell you to bring a delegate, but other times they will not and you may need to respectfully request to stop the conversation until you can find a delegate. You can find a list of union delegates and representatives here.

What's the process for going on medical leave or a parental leave?

To apply for Family Medical Leave you'll need to contact NYP's leave management office. They will provide you with the proper forms to be completed by a medical professional. Leave management will also determine how much time off you are entitled to under applicable laws and contract provisions. If you believe there is a mistake or have specific questions about a leave, please contact a union representative.

What do I do if I am summoned for jury duty?

As soon as you receive a summons, notify your manager. Your manager is obligated to discuss options for changing your schedule to accommodate the jury duty schedule. You need to give your manager at least 14 days notice.
