KNOW YOUR CONTRACT
The union contract -- also called a "collective bargaining agreement" -- is a legally binding agreement between union workers and management. Contracts guarantee union members safe working conditions, job protections, wages, and benefits, which are determined through a process called negotiations or "collective bargaining." As NYSNA members, nurses at NYP have a strong union contract; however, the contract is only as strong as our ability to enforce it! The first step towards enforcement is education - all members must know the contract! If you identify a breech of contract, reach out to your delegate, committee member, or rep ASAP!
You can view and download the contract here. Reach out to NYSNA committee members, delegates, or reps with particular questions about the current contract.
